This event showcases innovative short, independent film submissions from diverse, new and emerging cinematic creators—the fresh voices experimenting and creating brilliant work without commercial pressure or restraint. It is a boutique experience in the middle of the week where creatives, cinephiles, and general audiences alike can routinely look forward to discovering new works and original storytellers in cinema.

Official selections for this event are:

"How to Hack Birth Control," Sassy Mohen - Los Angeles. A satire comedy series told through the sharp wit and perky charm of the narrator Ruth, who takes on everything that sex ed never told you.

"Blue," Robert Petrie - New York. Jules looks to the stars for answers—and encounters intergalactic villains along the way!

"Gateway," Christopher Cunetto - Washington, D.C. After an unusual incident, a desperate widower becomes obsessed with contacting his late wife using a fringe-science meditation technique.

"Treasure," Anthony Parson - Richmond. Destiny embarks upon a journey to find treasure.

"Chimera," Andrew Lee Ryan - Los Angeles. Set in a not-too-distant future small town, a VR life simulation junkie goes on a mission in reality to get a new dopamine game cartridge before she goes through happiness withdrawal.

"At Last," Lancelot Mingau - France. The weight of a choice rests on one man’s shoulders.

Anthony Parson and Christopher Cunetto are scheduled to appear for a filmmaker Q&A moderated by Maggie Lovitt (Hollywood Critics Association) following the screening.
