Yes We Cannes Global Film Competition: Richmond Premieres

Save the date, mark your calendars, and prepare for a cinematic adventure that starts in Richmond and transcends borders!

Five Richmond filmmaking teams have accepted the challenge to compete against  global counterparts in the thrilling 48 Hour Film Project Yes We Cannes Global Film Competition, the cream of the 48 crop where all competitors finished 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in the 48's "regular season." From December 6-8, 2024, these elite local teams will sprint through an intense creative marathon, crafting short films that'll ignite your imagination!

Join us at Bow Tie Movieland on Sunday, December 15 at 3 p.m. for an exclusive showcase of these cinematic marvels. This isn't just a screening; it's your chance to be the judge! Audiences wield the power to crown their favorite Richmond film from the bunch! Audience Choice voting will be via QR code, so you must have a mobile device to vote!

But wait, there's more! After the screening, immerse yourself in the world behind the lens as film team leaders spill the secrets during a Q&A session. Get exclusive insights and behind-the-scenes tales that'll deepen your appreciation for their cinematic craftsmanship.

From the 125 teams in this global competition, an esteemed international judging panel will meticulously select the Top 15 films. These gems will then grace the screens at Filmapalooza in Seattle, Washington come March 2025. But the journey doesn't end there! The Top 8 films will strut their stuff at none other than the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner in May 2025, showcasing the pinnacle of creative prowess.

Tickets available for purchase online in advance through December 14 for $12 each, or day-of-screening for $15, cash or card.

Films are not rated. General discretion is advised.
